The event starts at 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at 213 S Wheaton Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187. Contact Dan at baileyd@ameritech.net to RSVP and for more info. Please bring your laptop and cell phone if you can (no problem if you cannot). RSVP and more info available here.

Instead of stewing about all that is going on in the US and in IL, we've decided to START TALKING to our neighbors about it. Join us as we do a summer-long issue canvass and find out what people in your DuPage County neighborhood think. This is also the perfect vehicle to find those who are already wanting to help us win in 2018 and just await your kind invitation. We will canvass most of the summer, generally with with the group canvasses/walk parties on Saturdays, and  group canvasses/walk parties and the opportunity to turn in your materials the following Wednesday (see below for exact dates and times).

If you haven't signed up yet at all, do so today here so that you can start learning and using our very low-key system for knocking on doors and finding out what your neighbors care about. Along the way, you will find dozens of people who have been waiting for your invitation to join in so that we can all do this together

For this canvass, we will be meeting at and canvassing out of the DPDC office (directions) starting at 11:00 am. Then on July 5th, people who have walk lists completed, or want to turn in what they have so far, can come to the office after 7:00 pm and we'll check in what you bring and see what questions you have at this point. Here are all of the scheduled canvass and turn-in dates:

    ·         July 5th Wed TURN-IN

"Democrats Day" at the Illinois State Fair kicks off with a Democrats Brunch at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Sign up to sit at one of the Democratic Party of DuPage County's tables. The overall event typically hosts 1,500 attendees, including a significant number of elected officials. This brunch is a wonderful opportunity to feel the energy of the Democratic Party in Illinois, hear inspiring speakers, and get to know other Democrats throughout our state.

To secure your spot, please call DPDC Chairman Bob Peickert at 630-421-2405, ASAP. Tickets are $50 per person. Transportation is the responsibility of each individual attendee.
    --------------------------------------------------------------
You may choose to extend your stay after the brunch. Here are some ideas (not organized by DPDC - up to each individual attendee):

    * Many participants choose to arrive the evening before the brunch. There are a number of additional hotels near by the Crowne Plaza that are available for overnight accommodations.
    * Go to the fair grounds after the brunch. There will be an area at the fair reserved for the Democratic Party, with a few more speakers and another networking opportunity.
    * People that have gone to the fair grounds generally return to the Crowne Plaza between 3:00 & 3:30 PM.
    * Make it a long weekend: Stay an extra day, give yourself more time take in the history of Abraham Lincoln, go the Lincoln Library, the State Capital and other historic locations.
