Referendum Forest Preserve District of DuPage County The Forest Preserve is seeking, through the referendum on your ballot, "to increase the limiting rate of its tax levy." The proposed tax increase is modest and necessary to support the open land, recreational space and benefits used by DuPage residents. The DuPage Forest Preserve's Board (composed of Republicans and Democrats) unanimously approved 7-0 asking for the referendum to be on the ballot.
708 Boards A 708 Board is established by referendum to coordinate comprehensive services for mental health issues; intellectual and developmental disabilities; and substance use issues. After being established within a township, it evaluates the community's needs and then creates support for those needs. The referendum establishes a small tax and the funding is used to provide grants and funding for the services authorized by the Board. The Board is not a direct service provider.

DuPage County is home to many Muslim and Jewish people and others that are Middle-Eastern connected, and as the Israeli-Hamas war places the lives, faith, and history of our friends and neighbors in the news, we recognize that the Israeli-Hamas war is the result of complex historical and current events that many often feel helpless to understand fully or to change. The Executive Committee passed a ceasefire Resolution. Our words may not be perfect; they may not be yours. Our Resolution reflects the desire for peace through a ceasefire and a viable path forward to save lives and provide significant humanitarian assistance in the region.
